We’re busy preparing for the opening day of Wendell House! We’re passionate about curating products that not only elevate your everyday life but also celebrate the bounty of our local community. Today, we want to share a sneak peek at a few of the Virginia makers we’ve selected so far.

Beautiful and functional pottery through Emerson Creek Pottery:
We’re head-over-heels for the beautiful, handcrafted pottery from Emerson Creek Pottery. This Virginia-based maker creates stunning pieces that are handcrafted without toxic ingredients in a vibrant array of colors. But beauty isn’t all they offer! Crafted from high-quality materials, their creations are dishwasher, oven and microwave safe, making them perfect for everyday use. We can’t wait to stock our shelves with these and help you find the perfect mug, bowl, or baking dish to brighten your day.

Fresh, local foods that serve our community through 4P:
Our store will feature a neighborhood market with a selection of local produce, meats and cheeses, and artisan foods. 4P works with hundreds of family farmers in Virginia and the surrounding region. Plus, we love their mission to create the kind of food system farmers thrive in, soil is cared for, animals are treated well, and all communities have equitable access to healthy food. In addition to supplying stores like Wendell House, they deliver 7,500 pounds of food every month to underserved communities to help get the food they need.

Blooming Local with Milmont Greenhouses:
Get ready to bring a touch of nature into your home! We’re thrilled to announce our partnership with Milmont Greenhouses in Stuarts Draft, Virginia. These experts in all things green will be supplying Wendell House with a vibrant selection of houseplants and seasonal plants for your porch or garden. We’re especially excited to kick things off with a stunning array of fall mums from Milmont Greenhouses when we open our doors this fall!

Julie Ellen Designs jewelry handmade made in Crozet (in Old Trail):
We were blessed to meet Julie early in our planning for Wendell House. She was just closing her store in Crozet and offered us so much guidance and encouragement. Plus, she creates the most beautiful jewelry! Her pieces have been worn in so many TV shows – This is Us, The Vampire Diaries, Jane the Virgin, Heart of Dixie, and When Calls the Heart. They have main character vibes for sure!
Calling All Local Makers! Our quest for amazing local partners doesn’t stop here! We’re actively seeking collaborations with talented artisans, farmers, and food producers in the Crozet area and beyond. Do you know of a local maker creating beautiful art, woodwork or hand-crafted soaps? We’d love to hear from you! Share your suggestions in the comments below, or feel free to send us an email. At Wendell House, we believe in fostering a strong sense of community. By partnering with local businesses, we can not only offer you exceptional products but also support the talented individuals who make the blue ridge area so unique. We can’t wait to discover more hidden gems and share them with you! Stay tuned for more exciting updates as we gear up for our grand opening!
How exciting we look forward to your opening soon!
