Summer is here, and with it comes poolside lounging, BBQs with friends, and evenings spent under the twinkling stars. But for those who don’t drink alcohol, the festive spirit of these gatherings might sometimes feel a little out of reach. I’ve been working to perfect my mocktail game. This summer, raise a glass (or mason jar) to good times with these delicious and delightful mocktails that are guaranteed to quench your thirst and keep the party going.
  • Sparkling Strawberry Basil: Muddle fresh strawberries. Top with sparkling water and Strawberry Basil syrup from Crescent Simples (for sale at Wendell House). You can include a sprig of basil for a refreshing and vibrant drink.
  • Blueberry Lavender Lemonade: Start with some fresh blueberries and a splash of Crescent Simple’s Blueberry Lavender Syrup. Add lemonade and a dash of club soda for some fizz. Garnish with a wedge of lemon and a cocktail umbrella for a playful touch.
  • Mock Margarita: Start with Stirrings Margarita Mix. Add club soda or sparkling water. Garnish with salt rim and lime.
  • Moscow Mule Mocktail: The Moscow Mule Mix from Wood Stove Kitchen is great on it’s own. But if the flavor is a bit strong for you, you can add some water, sparkling water, tonic or even ginger beer.

I also really enjoy a non-alcoholic beer. We carry a great local NA IPA from Star Hill and Hellraiser (one of the only amber NA beers I can find).

So, ditch the FOMO (fear of missing out) this summer! Grab your favorite mug or mason jar, and mix up a refreshing mocktail. Remember, good times and great company are the true ingredients for a joyful summer celebration.
